FanDuel Promo Code Banks $1,000 First Bet Offer in Many States, $150 Bonus in TN, CO, AZ & IL for Wednesday Action article feature image

Wednesday's betting slate is lined with all 30 MLB clubs in action as the latter half of August begins and the postseason race becomes more imminent. At this point, five teams lie within three games of the Wild Card cutoff line in the American and National Leagues, respectively. You can place stock on which teams are trending with either a $1,000 first bet or a $150 bonus bet return offer with the FanDuel promo code Wednesday.

In most live FanDuel states (IN, IA, KS, LA, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, WV, WY), you can wager up to $1,000 with a first bet on the house. For instance, if you bet $10 on Guardians ML against the Reds at +144, you would either win your $24.40 payout or get $10 back in bonus bets. If you bet $20 on the Guardians to win, you would either get your $38.80 winnings if they succeed or $20 back in bonus bets if they do not.

But if you're placing a FanDuel wager from Tennessee, Colorado, Arizona or Illinois, you can bet a minimum of $5 and receive a guaranteed $150 back in bonus bets no matter what. So a $15 bet on the Rays ML against the Giants at +100 will get the $25 payout plus $150 in bonus bets, or just the bonus bets.

You won't have to punch in an actual promo code to access the offer; just begin the sign up process and the offer will activate upon completion.

Either of these offers are applicable to any market or sport taking place all week, but we'll use MLB examples below to suggest how you can use the bonus opportunities Wednesday.

The five teams on the Wild Card chase are the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks. We'll focus on the Red Sox in their second game of the series against a lowly Washington Nationals team as a model for bonus betting.

FanDuel Promo Code: Red Sox-Nationals

Boston has made considerable leeway in staying afloat one of the most competitive divisions in modern MLB history. At fourth (10.5 games behind first place) in the AL East, the Sox have a sneaky +30 run differential and are 13th in wRC+ at 103.

The Sox took the series opener against Washington Tuesday in a 5-4 victory that was spearheaded by Alex Verdugo's first-inning HR and a pair of RBI. Verdugo has been aging like a fine wine for Boston boasting a .421 xSLG and .340 xwOBA.

Boston is exactly .500 on the road and have seized five of their last six—albeit against the likes of the Nationals, Tigers and Royals. The point is: The Red Sox are snagging late-season games against teams they should be beating to prove they are consistent for a playoff bid.

Washington dwells down to 94 wRC+ and is all but mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. They sit last in the NL East and 9.5 games out of a Wild Card spot. The Nats are ten games below .500 at home and rank 27th in ERA and 30th in HR through 120 games thus far.

A pair of left-handed arms take the mound in the veteran James Paxton for Boston against the young Mackenzie Gore for Washinton. Paxton is 7-3 through 15 starts to Gore's 6-9 record and 4.62 ERA in 23 starts.

The Sox are -102 on the run line, which we think gives moderate value considering team metrics, starting pitching and recency bias.

We love to take plus money with bonus bets because it offers more return in the long run. Plus, we don't hold onto bonus bets even after winning a bet with them. With that said, in addition to Verdugo, arguably the brightest light on the Sox has been the young Pablo Reyes since assuming a daily role in the infield.

Reyes has five multi-hit games in his last eight, which includes two against Washington on Tuesday. Let's pair Red Sox -1.5 with Reyes to get a hit at +163.

This SGP would return $163 with $100 worth of bonus bets on the line in the case that it hits. Otherwise, the $100 would profit nothing if both legs don't clear.
